127 V8 RHD 1984 of FRANCE! seeks information!!!
Hello,
I'm Sebastian alias Satanas in http://forum.le-temps-des-series.com/vi ... =1&t=11714 . I am French (nobody's perfect!). My English is very bad ( I use an automatic translator ) I am collector of Land Rover before 1985. I have 7 109 including 2 purchased in England. My first Land is a 110 V8 of 1983 (82nd manufactured V8). I have just bought a 127 of 1984.
it is one of the first models with square rear doors. The back seat and its attachment are not genuine. I therefore seeks owners of 127 square door for pictures of the back seat, and other details (folded back ...)
Thank you in advance to those I meet!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Best wishes!
S.

Hi Sebastian,
Great looking purchase there
I don't think you will get too many photos from here. As far as I am aware the Stage 1 was not produced in that form. Have you tried http://forums.lr4x4.com/ ?
Good luck.

Wow. Could that be the oldest surviving 127? I've never seen one with two piece doors before. I hope those rear doors are OK, I don't think you will easily find any replacements if the frames have rusted. Fabulous vehicle, I want it. Looks like an ex Southern Electricity vehicle - I used to own a SE 110V8 (also 1984) in an identical colour scheme.

The wikipedia page is interesting. So the 127 is really a 110 with a lengthened chassis.
That would explain the 110 grill, side windows, and windscreen, instead of the series versions of these.wikipedia wrote:127s were built on a special production line, and all started life as One Ten Station Wagon chassis (the model was initially marketed as the One Ten Crew Cab, before the more logical 127 name was adopted). These were then cut in two and the 17 inches (432 mm) of extra chassis length welded on before the two original halves were reunited. 127s did not receive their own dedicated badging like the other two models, instead they used the same metal grille badges as used on the Series III 109 V8 models, that simply said Land-Rover.
What gearbox does it have? LT95?wikipedia wrote:Initially held back by the low power of the Land Rover engines (other than the thirsty V8 petrol engine), the 127 benefited from the improvements to the line-up, and by 1990 was only available with the two highest power engines, the 134 hp (100 kW) 3.5-litre V8 petrol, and the 85 hp (63 kW) 2.5-litre Diesel Turbo.
