Meet 'George'

Post by mrplacid »

Hi there, this is 'George' my Stage 1 V8, an ebay purchase about 6 months ago. I immediately got an MOT but then decided to tackle some minor issues and he has not moved since! The gearbox was VERY noisy until you put your foot on the clutch so to cut a long story short I have replaced a number of bearings and sorted the broken oil pump. This of course lead to some tidying up of the seat box which is soon to go back in. I have just had a set of one ton rims blasted and painted and hope to fit these at the weekend! I will post some more pictures soon......

Cheers

Martin

Martin,

Good looking truck you have there, whereabouts are you?

I'd be interested to hear about your gearbox woes, Mine is like you described and I suspect it to be the layshaft bearings as its quiet with the clutch depressed.
What did you do to get it sorted, and was it costly?

Ta,

Matt.

At least the gearbox is relatively straightforward, but I have to admit thinking about what does what inside them does my head in :?
