the filter blocking leading to engine faliure sounds wrong
Filters have a bypass valve so when they become to clogged up this opens allowing the oil past the filter and still around the engine - of course this means you are pumping the unfiltered oil around, but its still getting some (didnt look closely at the v8, but every other engine ive done anything with has a bypass)

The oil having poor cleaning etc, could be true, dont know if that is tested in API specs etc, - would have thought it was , but if bad oil is used it wont hav helped (ive put cheap oil in a 2.25petrol...looked worse than what i normally drain out ...but that engine was dying anyway)

Hi all, sadley I must informe you that my brother has sold the car (BARIJA) :cry:
So, I have lost my car.
I must told you all, as I don`t have the reson to be in this forume any more, can I steel be jumping hear ?
