Hello, I am dani, this is BARIJA

Post by landdani »

Hello, my name is dani, this is our ex-militery land rover.
It is 109 stage1, model 1984 .
I am new in this field, but i am tellig you that it stucks on you for ever.
I did not have any idea about the car model or type, so I look it over the internet, write to a club, write to heritage-motor-centre, and finaly I have got my answer with the build date and type.
I live in damascus, syria , I use the car out twon only.
The brakes are bad, so I used the first gear technique a few days ago. :D
Can you help me to upload my photos?

We was thinking of some plays in the engin, it had no power, we had to choose from power and cold start, so we first chossed to be abel to start the ebgin and worry about the power later.

Then, after reading some articles in this forum I first thought to unlock the carburetor
lock,

Then we started to think about changing the distributor to an electronic one, or put out the 2 carburetors and replace them with rang rover injection.
We was not in hurry, but surprisingly my brother called me today and ask me to pick him up as he was at the garage making the changing.

I will start a new topic to know your opinion, I wanted to ask you all before we do any thing but I don`t know what motivated my brother suddenly

Umm, Hi Dani.

Good luck with that. The changes he is planning to make (is making(?)) are not little changes.

It is all don and finished yesterday, my brother called me and told me hi did test the car (at 140 KL/H) and their is a big difference.
I am afraid because the brakes are old as you all know and I don`t want to drive with that speed with this car.
I don`t know yet about the fuel consumption.
