Hello there :)

Post by olliebarrett_92 »

Hello to all.
Just thought I should write in here to say hello.
I have owned my Stage One V8 for a couple of months now. And cant wait to start learning to drive in it already!
I still keep thinking I must be mental having to run a V8 for my first car, but never mind! haha
In the time i have owned the car, I have made a few alterations:
- New front seats
- Re-painted (by hand, but a good job)
- Re-upholstered door cards
- Changing all fluids and oils etc etc

Please check out my Landy pics :)

Thanks,
Ollie :D

Looking good Ollie. There is no doubt the car will be a handful and expensive. But you will learn a lot from it. You are going the same way I did with mine :D

What do you intend to use if for? Daily driver or offroad?

Just to make life a little easier for the others I've linked your photobucket photos into this post.

Thanks for you replies!

Sebking, I am in East Anglia, England.

stirlsilver, Thanks, im sure it will be expensive, Land Rovers always are.. but indeed worth it. My intentions are to use it for both, everyday and for off roading. :D You have no idea how long i was trying to get those pictures on here, thanks very much :)

Bumpkin, thanks very much. Im sure all will work out just how i want it in the end :D

I'll be picking mine up in a few weeks.

It's going to take a while to get it sorted but it'll be fun. Any Stage 1 owners in oxfordshire?

Fine looking van mate. The red looks really good on it and it looks to be nice and straight.

Sure it'll cost more to run than a Kia, but would you have wanted one those? ;)

Ok, GREAT NEWS!!!
The Landy now has an MOT!

The shims were added to the NSF CV Joint,
The small patch of welding to the chassis has been done,
And my engine is no longer constantly backfiring!!

With the Hydrocarbon emissions reading at 7,500 when they should be about 2,000 things weren't looking too promising, but then after a bit of fiddling, and a new set of spark plugs, a condenser, and points, we got the reading down to 250!! (and no that isn't a mistake, 250!!!)

Now just Tax and Insurance to sort out for my birthday, and on Monday we shall be on the road!! WATCH OUT!!

Just amazing what a few relatively cheap fixes can do isn't it :) It isn't always necessary to chuck great gobs of cash at these things.

Well done Ollie.
