Put a deposit on stage 1 yesterday.

MOT to feb but looks like it's done less than 100 miles since the last tax ran out in Jun '07!

Galv chassis, parabolics, repainted 5 years ago, new tank and rad.

Lots of small things to fix but at £2500 you would expect it!

Pix to follow and loads of questions no doubt!

Hi Seb,

Look forward to seeing them :)

Sounds a tidy rig, and parabolics too hmmmm.

There's gonna be a load of work to get it sorted - there are some great bits and some shocking bits. Mot was in Feb 08 and I wouldn't have passed it. But... the price is much less than it was when I first saw it and at £3995 is was way out, £2995 too much but at £2495 it hits the spot (eg I can afford it).

I've got a Triumph Dolomite Sprint (also Pag Blue) to get out of the door to pay for it (needs a new head which is on it's way). That's why the deposit is paid and the landy is not here yet!

Someone spent a lot of money on this Stage 1 and then gave up so I hope to get it back up to spec asap! In the short term that's puling a small boat and then next year it'll be the camping vehicle!

Main areas of concern so far:

Electrics a bit suspect
Engine needs a good service - that oil is very very nasty
Clean up and repaint of floor panel undersides
reinforcing bars under the rear floor are very flakey
seat belts in the rear
metal work behind the sill is very rusty but solid from memory
Oil gauge is bonkers
Front mud flap is well flapping

and no doubt plenty more!

Yes it was/is.

Was too much on the Bay and is still a bit but has some good parts.

Hi Seb,

Is it the one from MRM ?

It is from MRM - Not at the price he had it for though on ebay.

Heard both good and bad things about him. Seems friendly though but not that knowledgeable about Series stuff.

I'll collect as soon as I've finished and delivered the car that is financing it!

Why do you ask?

Just being curious - there's not so many Stage 1's around with a galvanized chassis - so I just wondered if it was that one :)
