Post by Bumpkin »

Just thought i'd introduce myself. My names Terry and a have only recently got into Stage 1s.I bought a CSW(Knackered Chassis) last year and then not to long ago i picked up a really nice HiCap with a galvy chassis fitted. The HiCap is perfect for my needs, i do alot of ofroad on the shoot and cut and carry alot of logs. The Stage 1 gets me to parts of the woods i have not been able to reach before as i never had the power on the 109 Deisel to get out with a full load.I am picking up the 3rd Stage one next week and intend on making a CSW out of the 2.

Hi,

Just a quick greeting from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 8)

I have a 1984 Stage 1 V8 with a 3.9 litre RPI engine installed.

Used most on-road these days, with the security situation here!

The good news is that fuel is 20p/ litre

The forum is a great idea!

Cheers

Hello there,
just joined as I found out that this forum exist. Good stuff.
I've a 1982 Stage One Truck Cabin with a 3/4 hood. Ex Swiss fire brigade, beautifully red with siren, blue light and a hydraulic system to operate a snow plough.

The only problem with it is the consumption, I need to do something on the carbs because at the moment I'm around 23 ltr / 100 km. I've eard that it should be around 16.

Anyway a beautiful and good enjoyable beast.

ciao

Hi from NZ

Hi to all. Just joined thanks to Terry for contacting me.
I have a project stage one. Our army is just changing from stage ones so there are quite a good supply of vehicles and parts here at present. I had a 109 6cyl which I wanted to add the v8 to. Then found a stage one chassis for sale and bought that with a transmission and some other parts. then began collecting more parts and got a second chassis with most panels and a rear axle and trans. So I have nearly enought parts to build two. I kept the hard top and sold the rest of the 109.
Now begins the job of putting it all together. Very dificult when I am 150 miles away most of the time.
I hope to add power steering, parabolic springs, 4wheel discs and a 4.4l P76leyland V8. Due to the fuel price increases will most likely add LPG and maybe an overdrive, although I have read that they will not help economy.
I also want to add an on board air compressor.
So lots to do. Will look forward to hearing any ideas and improvements from you all. Cheers Paul.
