Completed the right front fender. The trained eye immediately recognizes that there is one missing "Nothing", so a hole! :)
Heating wasn't really necessary for Dubai. Therefore there is no hole where you can suck in air.

Cutting the hole isn't a big deal ... but, someone meant it well and reinforced the fender. With 6 mm allurized corrugation :?

Basic gynecological training is useful in order to tighten the top three screws on the sheet metal between the fender and foot box on the right. On the left, that doesn't help either. Then you have to come up with something ... :roll:

What could be removed from the list?
The electrics in the engine compartment sorted. I converted the main headlights to relay control. I use the original line to control the relay. A new, thick line brings the electricity. This means that the power no longer runs through the switches or through the standard wiring harness.
Functionally it's wonderful, but I don't really like the solution (yet).

Then screwed on the front mask and grill. Unfortunately, the lower grill for the oil cooler opening is missing in the puzzle :?
You can't buy such a thing ... :o :? :D

It is more likely that it is off a LHD vehicle? Ours do not have holes on that side. The air inlet is on the other wing.

I have relays on the headlights. Gives the indicator stalk a much longer life span. But then mine is also 24V so the contacts tended to burn out that much faster too. :roll:

I know that. But my car is is LHD. But that's probably how it is when you buy cars with first delivery Dubai (!).

no heating lever, no switch for the fan ... not even the print above the switch! They really tried hard :P

It was so optional. But it is very rare.
So far I've only seen one Landy with the truck cap tropical roof.

The thick folder of documents that was always carried with me led to a relaxed acceptance.
The official sea blessing was thus, more or less, only a matter of form.

Today we still tinkered a heat protection for the clutch slave cylinder. I meant it a little too well when I put the exhaust system up high. The thing is getting really warm around the heart. With the fender everything seems to be fine ...

A few "dirty jobs" have to be done before the interior is finished.

In the fund there was still a roof rack. The noble Swiss product has to be adapted a little for the Sandy.
Cut through at a strategically favorable point ...

"Clamping sleeves" tinkered that are inserted into the pipes. So they center themselves as if by themselves. That makes dodging together a lot easier. Image

Then the rust spots are blown with some paint.
There are still a few ideas that need to be implemented on this thing. Only when all of this has been done will I have the carrier re-galvanized ... or beautify it with stovepipe silver Image

... then I took care of the bracket for the Foxwing. Due to the Dormobile roof, all the usual fixings are ruled out.
Then the flex and the welding machine have to work ...Image

At the front there was a console on the roof rack. It has to protrude a little so that the Dormobile roof opens without collision.

The solution chosen at the back has the chance to defy longer hopping paths ...

I'm afraid the thing will have to take on a few more useful functions. In order to be able to implement this with welding technology, the support is only galvanized when it has reached an advanced stage of maturity. Until then, a touch of black ensures that it doesn't look quite so raw.

The support profile of the Foxwing is quite stable, but on the Sandy the wing is now firmly fixed at the front and the back. You can bend them significantly with little force. If you do it rhythmically, it really swings up. It is quite conceivable that this could happen on the motorway due to the airstream ...
But the tooth was also pulled :D

With some regalia the Sandy doesn't look so "sterile" anymore ... it will!

However, there are few builds that would come as close, and I am certain it is better now than it was new. So credit where it is due.

Sandy has never been registered in Germany. So a so-called full acceptance is necessary. I think you can imagine that the German authorities take it very carefully. This is not an issue with a standard car, but with such an exotic car there are many questions and not only answers but also documents are needed. In the folder are brochures from Sandringham, Dormobile. Technical documents for the trailer coupling and much more. The good man from the TÜV who does the acceptance is always happy when he has documents to file ...

I believe I've got kind of GEN heating valve bracket for MOD type air filter. Found it while sorting parts for my Stage 1 . Frank, If you are interested I can post the pics .
