Hello From North Carolina.

Post by mharshman »

Hello all,
I have had my 1980 Series 3, V8 for about a week. I have also ordered many parts for it. A rebuild project in the making.
I like all new owners have many questions.
This one V8 was ordered and shipped to Kuwait for a few years. A Left Hand Drive! It had an Air Conditioning and a Fairey Overdrive (Which are gone!!) Brought back to the UK and changed hands a few times. Was imported to America in 2011, and I just purchased it. Came with a ton of paperwork, engine, trans rebuilt in 1996.
I will appreciate any advice in the future.

North Carolina is not too far from Virginia. There has never been another Stage One at any of the Virginia Rallys (www.roav.org). We have a nice soft rally coming up in March and there will be some harder stuff later in the year.

Lets see you out on the trails.....

Thanks Firemanshort,
I will keep that in mind. First I must replace my springs, shocks. They are in horrible shape. Also the fuel pump, rebuild the Carbs. (I already ordered the parts) Then I will be happy about venturing out into the wilderness. Let me know the dates, where? I am not an extreme off roader, climbing rocks and crap. But gatherings, good beer and nice trials suit me fine.
I will be in Uwharrie Forest this April. A local thing among friends.

Thanks, -Matt
