Heater control valve... again

Post by disco2hse »

OK. So has anyone successfully repaired the heater control valve when it leaks from the plunger?

Otherwise, I may look at this as an option:

Or maybe this:

I'd be surprised if Caterham actual have a special valve. I'd go to the local auto store and look in their catalogue of aftermarket replacement heater taps.

That's an option. I am thinking about the D1 option in my second link.

Caterham have this:

We have just resurrected our upgraded stage one heater control valve project which we first looked at over 18 months ago.

It was stopped because the manufacturing costs and there for the resale costs where to high. Now we have reduced the manufacturing costs we are confident we can get this product to market.

Please keep a eye on our FB page for more details.

Re the Caterham Valve
Probably a bit late now but for anybody else with this issue.

The Caterham valve is still available.

I've been using it for three years now and it works perfectly. Its metal and nice and solid..
Probably tempting fate eh.

Bryan,

Is the heater valve project underway?

I ask because Nora is now suffering from the incontinence that comes with old age...

Turned out much better then I could have hoped and really pushed my machining limits on the housing

Hi all,

I installed the heater valve a few weeks ago.
We spent the Easter holidays with our caravan behind the Stage 1. The old valve was leaking on longer trips and I didn't want to top up the coolant permanently
The valve fits and works perfect!
