Gear boots and knobs

Post by wpalmo »

Hi All,

just curious as to where I might be able to source the gear boots for the levers for my stage one. I am after the 4 speed, high/low range and handbrake boots if it is still possible to source them. I also need the high/low range gear knob and also a bush I think for the knob on my 4 speed lever. I was hoping that there might be somewhere online that supplies these parts. Any help would be appreciated before I spend the next 3 days online trying to source them.

Regards Warrick.

Have a look on LRseries.co.uk, and get the part numbers. Then use LRdirect.co.uk to purchase them as I've had bad service from LRseries but their website is good for part no.s

Main gear level knob - FRC5091
Transfer gearbox gear lever knob - FRC6126
Main gear lever gaiter - MRC4857

Is this what you are looking for, for the gaiters? http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/li ... ter&page=1

Thanks disco2horse. Saved me some time trying to get those part numbers. The link you posted is what I am after however do you think that is the set for the Stage One? I haven't got any gaiters on my truck cab and I am not sure what they look like. Seems like a nice kit and very good price though.

Actually no, they look nothing like mine.

The Hi-lo lever has one of these: http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/li ... AITER.html

The hand brake doesn't have a gaiter at all, partly because it is bolted to the front of the seat box, rather than coming through it like on standard series. It does have a leather gaiter that hides the moving/adjusting bits.

The main gear lever looks like this (at http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-MRC4857):

As posted before, LR Series has my phone number on speed dial. I use them all the time. I should just send my paycheck directly to them. They seem to have 90% of everything I am looking for, and the cheapest.
First download the Series III part Catalog. It will help you find the actual part numbers. Well 98% of them
Try this website when searching for parts. http://www.landroverworkshop.com/
It is a search engine for Series parts. Enter part number and it searches five different websites for you, you pick what price you want to pay. It also has a few diagrams of the parts you might be looking for. (Not all)
Granted there is about twenty different websites we can buy Series III parts from. Some are great, some are worthless. There are many here in America that claim they carry Series III parts, but they have nothing worth while, and when they have my part, they want an arm and a leg for it.
If you need more sites to search from, let me know. Google search Land Rover Series III. I have spent days looking for that one site that has what I am needing.

Hope this helps.
Cheers, Matt
