Looking into Roof Racks, Any suggestions?

Post by mharshman »

Hello all, I have been shopping around for a roof rack. I know some say it addes too much weight, makes it sway, etc....
I get that. I can not imagine mine being without one.
Question is..... Which to choose? I have seen the full welded packages, and the assembly required models (flat pack). I also have seen The sunroof and the contour models. I like the contour shape, but will my equipment fall off the top when I slam on the brakes? HaHaHa By sunroof, do they mean it does not obstruct the upper windows in my roof? I prefer not to drill into the roof. I will put on the top, some Jerry cans, pioneer tools (Shovel, hi-lift jack, maybe sand ramps), water tight box of tow ropes and tie down straps. I know to get Galvanised or better material.
I have standard (new) shocks and springs. Normal height, no lift kit or huge tires.

Any advice will be welcomed.

Thank you in advance. -Matt

Just get something that is built for Series III and has allowance for the tropical windows.
