Post by lee8 »

going to balance my carbs-looking for advice & tips
engine ticks over nice when warm, emmisions will pass the mot-now the carbs
have been rebuilt but want to be sure its running right(its not been on the
road for a few months, carbs were in a bit of a state)
do the temperature compensators need adjusting?if so how?

First job following a rebuild is to make sure the linkage operates both carbs evenly. Slacken all the linkage and quadrants off and set up so that everything moves in unison. Make sure the throttle peddle achieves maximum movement on the butterflies as quite a few I’ve seen don’t!

Make sure you havent got any air leaks. For the avoidance of doubt disconnect everything vacuum operated and bung accordingly.

The rest is down to sound and smell

Good luck…
