when l asked my girlfriend - her response was "geeks", she doesnt get the landy love. she may change her mind when she realises that her 200bhp leon will be useless in the next batch of winter snow.

Alan - thanks for your response, another day at school.
l did notice the work hardening of the copper but didnt know it would split/burst easily at these points.

As far as I know, not in the UK
Prety sure most of europe doesnt allow them though

Most of what you can get is Kunifer which is an alloy of copper and something else (Nickel?)
I dont think ive come accross anywhere selling copper pipe

To the original question.
I have bought the OEM pipes for the front backplates (between cylinders) due to the awkwardness of the bends - they were preformed
the other pipes I have made.

I got them from p.a.blanchard in the UK

Copper alloy replacement brake pipe has been an acceptable repair in the UK for decades. It is nice to work with as it is much easier to shape than steel and it flares nice. I would however recommend the more expensive “duller” in colour copper pipe as appose to the bright copper coloured stuff – the latter is too soft in my opinion which is not ideally suited to a Land Rover.

Never heard of it hardening or corroding away though – besides, doesn’t steel corrode
Appreciate that some parts of the world have a different rules and regulations.

It's pretty common in Denmark to use copper brake pipes :)
