One of the jobs that Alice has been upto. :D :D

Taking my father in law's series 1 to an event at Silverstone. The series 1 by the way is up for sale if anyone is interested!!!

A stage 1 trailering a series 1, not many days you get to see this!! Caused quite a few head turns as I trundled down the road.

Interior light. LED strip light that runs from the B post to the rear along the join of the headlining and the side panels. Interior illumination sorted, if anything a little too bright!!
Just visable is the insulation used between the roof and headlining, which has made a HUGE HUGE difference.

I'll put some pics up of the other insulation I have used which is a closed cell foam. The result is almost silence at 55mph  Go faster and the wind noise becomes intrusive, but you can still hold a conversation at 65mph. Not bad for a series motor!!

Rear seat belts are relativly easy to retro fit.
You will need to buy the bottom mounting bracket which is a simple bolt on job. Various places sell them (there is a part number for the item, my books are currently buried under boxes of stuff at the mo)
This is what it looks like,

I got mine from YRM Metal Solutions who make lots of replacement stuff for Landrovers.
The seat belt kits came from Exmoor Trim, nice belts with a smooth action. The top mount bracket was already bolted in place, but again these are avaiable from various outlets.
Does require abit of drilling and thought about where to mount the reel, but easy enough to do. (Alice is currently full of stuff ready for camp so can't take a pic of the reel mounting at the mo)

The trim panels and headlining are from LaSalle. Reasonably easy to fit, just needs a bit of trimming here and there. Headlining was a bit of a challenge getting holes in the right places!!

Rear heated seats for those chilly days 8)
Sorry, main request from my kids when we made the decision on the new seats. The front ones, which I have now just ordered, also have seat heaters fitted.

Some more pics of Alice and her latest adventure!!

Image20160818_105050 by Spencer, on Flickr

On our way down to Devon last week.

Towing the Tin Top Tent prouved rather easy and caused a few 'double' takes as we cruised on down at a steady 60 ish all the way.
Had a cracking break not doing much mainly taking the kids down to the beach for the day.
Covered just under 600 miles without a hitch and returned 19.8 mpg, more than happy with that!

Feeling a little guilty that I have not updated Alice's story for a while

I'm happy to report that she is still alive and well!! Alice is used on a daily basis and brings a smile to my face every time I fire her up, I realy cannot think of any other vehicle that I would rather have. I tend to just cruse along, letting everyone else rush on by, only to catch up with them at the next set of lights and think what's the point? I realy enjoy the fact that you have to 'drive' her, rather than be driven along with all sorts of fancy electronics doing the work for you. It's not often that she's not full of kids who prefer to have a ride in a 'cool' 8) Landy than some soul less tin box.
Alice has covered nearly 18,000 miles since I rebuilt her and is now due for another oil and filter change, along with a good waxoiling whilst the weather is warm and dry.
Never a dull moment!!
