Yes, some were made - I have one :) - didn't pay that for it though (bought a few years ago now) - also someone in Edinburgh remanufactured some a few years ago and was selling them on ebay for around £100, which were essentially indistinguishable from the original. I imagine the purchaser of this one must be doing an 'upmarket' restoration of some sort which they hope to sell for some fantastic price - otherwise why pay such an incredible price?!
(There's a Land Rover main dealership in Market Rasen - I imagine this may have been languishing on a shelf there for years, though of course I don't know)
