The lower grill is the only peculiar panel part. Otherwise you can carefully cut the standard panel, including the lower locater holes. The hardest part is the round corners. Otherwise just use a large hole saw.
The oil cooler is a generic 13 row (Mini, MGB…). The pipes, mounting bracket, big foam seal and the adaptor plate for the oil pump is another story.

In NZ there are a number of ex-army Stage 1's being dismembered for parts. I suggest, if you do Facebook, that you visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/553751274765953/ It is a closed group and you will be asked for your association with ex-army V8s.

There you will find at least two that will have all those parts you are looking for.

How genuine do you want? LR ex-army Stage 1 V8's. Frankly, you won't get any more genuine.

If you read the relevant parts books you'll see that the generic oil cooler is the exact same part. If you can buy it in a Land-Rover box, you'll pay more than for the exact same item in a MOCAL or similar box. You'll also find countless MGB and Mini sellers with them on hand or direct from the manufacturer. Search for 13 row oil cooler.
The front panel is the exact same pressing, but with additional pressed holes. Hence, if you have a standard one you are half way there. Though there is an early and late front panel with a different hole size for the crank handle.

As the oil cooler is a nut and bolt conversion (as per the later optional parts list) I would get the vehicle running without the cooler and fit one when it becomes available.

Have you accessed the parts list for the other military Land-Rovers that were so equipped or the later Optional Parts list in which most parts are pictured?

Hello Fireman (it is the nickname of my Fire Engine Forward control with an HIAB crane of 2T!)
Maybe the Holy Grail will be on the road (and off-road!!!) before the end of 2017 but for your trip, I think it is not possible!
And I am OK to come if you pay transport by boat and petrol for the road (around 70L/100km - 3,36MPG US!!!! at 60MPH)
Good luck for your trip!

Hello Sébastien,

Great to hear from you. Those parts you are looking for are available in NZ (the grill, front panel, and oil cooler radiator).

If you want, I could post onto our FB page a request to other Stage 1 ex-army V8's for the parts. We can work out the logistics. Oh, and I have the lower grill but not the panel (because I fitted a PTO winch to the front where it sat).

Hope you re keeping warm in this sudden freeze.
