Value

Post by stoddster »

I am considering selling my stage 1 v8 1983 but have no idea of price? Looking for some advice. It is red with white roof. It has a 3.9 v8 mileage on the clock is 83000. It is LPGed. Full roof rack and galvanised chassis. It is taxed until the end of February and MOT until may. Electronic ignition with new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and ignition coil. Two new batteries, new drivers door and inner mud wheel arch shields. Runs sweat on both fuels. It has great defender seats.
Can anyone help

That's all good stuff you have mentioned and will lift the value. The big thing will be how much/if any rust in the critical areas (chassis and firewall). When was the engine conversion done?

There is no chassis corrosion I can see, couldn't say when the conversion was done unfortunately I think it was done/ built by someone on this forum according to my mate who I bought the vehicle from. It had no mot when I bought and I somewhat obsessively have maintained it since. Otherwise it is solid all round. Do you have a rough idea of what you think I should ask for it?

I'd say to chuck it on for 6500 and see if you get any takers. If it sells quickly for the present price, then you may not have been asking enough for it.
