For Sale Exceptional Stage 1 V8 Station Wagon

LAND ROVER STAGE ONE V8 STATION WAGON

Reluctantly I have for sale possibly, the most remarkable Stage One available today!
Only two people ever used this Land Rover,The first one being an AA Officer.
He ordered most of the Factory extras when new, And placed many spare parts bulbs, lights, fan belt & instructions about the Vehicle.
He spent hours protecting the chassis & underside with hammerite & waxoyl.
This treatment together with Only 33,000 miles of light road & otherwise garaged use, Has left this vehicle in the remarkable condition you see.
We know photos flatter, But honestly this Land Rovers bodywork has retained it's Original finish With added lustre of hours of polishing.

This is NOT a restored Vehicle, But is the Original finish.
Sometimes full restoration has to be done,But you can not create the glowing patina you see here.
The Interior is of the same standard, Trim, rooflining etc, most of the seats having had little or no use.
The galvanized now has that lovely oak leaf zinc pattern, Wheels again Original paint,
However they have some rust spots.

Tyres are the ones fitted when new. Michelins which were an option,With still enough tread for cautious use.
The chassis I suppose inevitably being a Stage 1 has had work done to it.ie New rear X member,
& Rear out riggers, Some outriggers & other places do need attention.
Shock obsorber's may need replacing.
Where hammerite paint has come off, The chassis is still in black enamel,However where paint has been off for sometime,
Unfortunately rust has set in,So for the Moment has been treated with black Waxoyl.
During my 12 year ownership the Land Rover was stored inside & started & moved periodically.

I was lucky to buy a new chassis that has been heavily preserved (Please see separate photo"Genuine Land Rover Parts")
In Picasa photo album link.
Although a valuable item in it's own right,This chassis should go with the vehicle.
It' for the new owner to decide therefore, to use the Land Rover as it is,or match the so original body to a original chassis item.
Engine starts & runs as it should,Clutch transmission axel etc all working, Brakes do need attention for any serious use.
The stainless exhaust is blowing a little on one or two joints.
Front & rear windows are heated & there is a spare new one for the rear (See photo)
The front grill is curious,Would a man who has carefully preserved this vehicle change the grill?
Or it's original?Someone will know.

So to summarise a remarkable Vehicle, & opportunity.
Yes there is some Land Rover rust, Which is almost all in the chassis,
The doors for example are rust free & perfect, even on the underside.
Having been stored since 2000 the Land Rover must be recommissioned for safety.

Please respectfully, This vehicle deserves a good home.
