Is that the fuel tank under the front passenger seat? Also - there is a hand throttle on the bulkhead. Was that installed to serve a purpose (was this a fire appliance or works truck at one time)?

Read your handbook. Hand throttle and extra tank are optional extras.

It's the rear tank.
As I understand it the vehicle was owned for a number of years by Land Rover and that will , I suspect, account for the hand throttle. The paperwork includes an internal requisition for rear bench seats so whether they initially didn't fit them or upgraded them before sale we will never know.
The second owner was RACAL who used it a couple of times a year for towing their exhibition stands.
The previous owner from London only covered 2000 miles in 13 years.
It has always been a SW and this is confirmed by the vin number and V5

The Fireman was referring to this image, I think.

The hand throttle is annoying. It is just a little too far away to be of use. I usually only use it when outside the vehicle (using the winch, for example) and that means having to get at it from the passenger side or stretching over the driver's seat to get at it.

I am thinking of shifting it up to the steering column or near the dash somewhere. Something along the lines of a quadrant like the old marine style throttles (up and down, not side to side as it is now).

Good luck with the sale. :)
