Can anybody recommend a good source for door trim, I've looked at Exmoor but reading previous comments on this forum I'm not sure I want to explore that avenue!

Find an old one and copy it yourself.

You won't find an exact match for the vinyl but otherwise the cards are straightforward and cheaper than the half-assed product from Exmoor.

Otherwise, go and pay them a visit and ask why they wont sort out the simple problems to bring their product up to speed? If you have a 50 year old Mini or Triumph there isn't a problem, so bugger me why they can't sort out a Series III.

Just depends on how flash you want them to be I guess. They are very easy to make. Some vinyl, hardboard, closed cell foam (if you want the top part), some glue and screws and an afternoon of happy craftwork.

Thanks guys; I think I'll try Alan's idea and attempt to make my own in a sticky back plastic/empty washing-up liquid bottle Blue Peter fashion ... !

That's what I did. One thing that improves them a bit is to stick 3mm foam to the hardboard before putting on the vinyl. Cuts down on a lot of noise and keeps in a lot of warmth.
