broke(n) again

Post by gary_in_nz »

well i have to say owning a rover takes its toll on the wallet.

today i was on an outing with a local 4x4 club, and after completing the most hardest, greasy/muddy hill climb i have ever had to do, i reached the top of the hill and parked up to watch the other chaps come (or not in a few cases) up the hill. i went to start off again and the landy was a bit cross axeled i didnt think this was a problem, just the grass was a bit wet to start off. i started off, giving a bit of the lead foot i have and all of a sudden i had ripped all the grass off from under the front right wheel, it got sudden traction and blew my CV to pieces. Thus leaving me in some god forsaken farm in the middle of nowhere in 2wd about 150km/s from home. then i hard to drive this distance back to home with the centre diff lock on which i was not looking forward to.

any hints on doing the cv's in landys???

just one thing after another, any how, back to the gararge

this is where i was parked to do the dammage a bit hard to see any slope.

Bad luck mate, nice scenery though, as for your cv joint they are easy to change, might be harder getting the joint than doing the job itself as they are specific to the the stage 1.
