have spent most of the day cutting out the rust hole on the LHS middle outrigger and making an infill plate which will get welded in on monday hopefully.
had a look at the small hole in the pasenger foot well as that had an advisory from the mot.
the pictures says it all (the previous owner had sandwiched the rusty metal and sealed with rubber strip.)

have had to cut the whole footwell out and must make up a new peice from some sheet. extra work l didnt want :(

Well the landy needed its first outing today. went out with my mate in his S111 88" arround Coventry on the local green lanes.
very first lane began with a river crossing - no problems!
amazed at the power of the V8, it didnt miss a beat.
did find out that the diff lock doesnt work which is a pain. :(

well done that man: diff lock is prob just jammed from lack of use or you've forgotten to hook it up to the manifold?

If it's the actual switch shout as I have spares.

well l thought it would be time for a progress update.

came out to look at the truck this morning to get some boxes out of the back, thought to myself - that rear left is looking flat.

up close to the truck - tyre flat as a pancake. fired the spare on and took the flat back to the house to get some air in it.

NO !"£$ING LUCK - SOME F*&^(*G B"£$%"$D HAS PUT A KNIFE THROUGH THE SIDE OF IT!!!!     tyre was only 400 miles old!
they had also done another 4X4 on the road. same size cut in the same position.
reported to police but doubt anything will come of it.
keep an eye on the your trucks please. hope this doesnt happen to anybody else. makes me really doubt putting the soft top on now.

Nice. That should be a whole lot quieter and probably drier too.

The canvas is looking a little dry. Have you put on some waterproofing agent?

[quote="harry potter"]will try and get a video of the truck running

will be working again on it this weekend. have to make some brake hoses for the rear axle and give the engine another run.

Does those small air-filters do the same job as the original big barrel that's usually used? I'm currently working on my 1977 prototype (see general discussions)
