Whats it worth?

Post by jonnyboy »

I may have to sell my stage 1 next year and was ondering what iits worth.

1981 station wagon.
had the following new bits and work done:

Chassis replaced with a rust free one.
new cills/B pillar's @ £110 each!
top end engine rebuild
rear tub cross members replaced
new fuel tank.
new brakes & pipes all round.
Parabolics
Decent wheels & tyres
New lights all round
Etc, etc, etc

It will have 12 months MOT

Bad points

Its blue and the doors are white and green.
Damaged front seats i.e torn (may replace before selling)

Would £1000 - £1500 be realistic?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Jon

It not quite finished yet, hence why it will be for sale after christmas.

Heres a couple of pics

As it is now

During the rebuild.

Its currently registered as an agricultural vehicle so its technically tax and MOT exempt if you can justify it.

Looks a good solid vehicle. Where did you find a rust free Stage One chassis? I didn't think such things existed.

The person I bought it off had it from new. About 10 years ago the chassis was rotten so he bought a chassis from one that had been burnt out but had no rust. He started to replace the chassis and then put his back out and never finished it. 10 years later when he was moving house I bought it off him as a rolling chassis and a pile of bits.

The cils and B pillars were rotten as was the rear tub crossmemebers. The only reason its rust free is a lot of hard work :D and far too much money

There are a few more pics here
