Adrian Flux have advised that as I have more than 5 seats the'll not cover me - this is despite me telling them it had 12.

I've gone through all my insurance details for the last 3 years and no where is the a mention of this although they say there is. They also say that the voice records do not back up what I say.

So they've cancelled my insurance, taken a cancellation fee and told me to like it or lump it!

Now I find that getting a Station Wagon insured is not that Easy (9 seats at present).

And as of 15 mins ago I've got no insurance.

Fuming mad.

Seb,

I too had an issue with Adrian Flux when my renewal came up this year; though nothing to do with the number of seats.

Try Sureterm Direct 0800 999 2000. I've got 6 seats in my Stage 1 and suffered no problems getting insured, it even states the number of seats on my insurance schedule.

Cheeky I know but if you ask for Natalie Gentile or one of her team, quote ref. no. 00654869 and take out insurance, then I may even get free insurance next year ... !

Good luck.

Kev.

They refused cover - listed as 12 seats. Said that I'd have to remove the benches which is pain as I sit on them when we are camping etc.

Peter Best have provided cover as long as there are no more then seven people they are happy to cover 12 seats.

It's madness.

Flux have just lost my Triumph too, also now with PB

Interesting. Mine's been with Peter Best since I got it in 2001 and I've just checked my original proposal form to see that I declared 12 seats and I don't remember any mention of not being able to use them all.

I've actually never had the benches or middle front seat fitted and it's currently only got 2 fitted. I was however just about to put it up to 11 seats (keeping the cubby box).

Hope the insurance issue is sorted now, i've always had issues with Adrian Flux back in my kit car days, they always seamed to be double everyone else!

I have seen an article in a 4x4 mag regarding changes to the MOT and multi purpose vehicles, not sure if its to do with the class weight or that with 12 seats its technically classed as a mini bus and as such comes under a PSV which would mean commercial insurance.

Will have a look for the article it may be of some relevance, or i could be getting my fact scrambled!
