Roverdrive and Santana gearbox

I recently acquired a brand new Santana 4-speed gearbox in part-exchange


for my old well-worn Rover box and rattly Fairey overdrive. It really needs an overdrive for long runs, and I fancied the "Roverdrive" unit, being epicyclic, likely to be quiet in use, and available brand new.

Then it struck me. Roverdrive is made to fit the Rover box, which is Imperial. Santana boxes are Netric. Apart from the mounting bolts, which would have to be specially acquired, are the Santana gears cut the same as Rover? If not, the project is a non-starter.

Has anyone out there ever fitted a Roverdrive to a Santana box?
