‘82 Stage 1 V8 Station Wagon
2 adults, 2 children, camping gear for two weeks, built in kitchen, food, water etc
Trailer – 14 ft laser 2 Sailing dingy and sailing gear for two weeks.

Didcot to Newport, Pembrokeshire, Abbergavenny, Hay-on Wye – Didcot (plus the usual trips a holiday brings)

600 miles in total and an average of 16.38 mpg at mixed speeds.

Before leaving Brake Lights and Windscreen Wipers packed up! – Two separate faults one being a lead falling off, the other being wet connections

At 150 miles fuel pump stopped (no fuel = stop!), but couldn’t find a fault and started again.

At 170 miles dodgy britpart rear shoes started squeaking – ran like this for the rest of the journey. Fixed with a little tweak of the adjusters, but it’s the shoes at fault as the adjuster holes are just wrong!

At 250 miles fuel pump stopped again – fault traced swiftly to loose earth connection.

Other than that the cam is a bit noisy but was before hand and a few nutters who didn’t like the idea of being stuck behind 32ft of V8 and trailer was a great trip.
