Re: Another from Australia

I know where there are a few. Still on vehicles the owner considers to be basket cases.
I'll ask him if he'll part with them next time I see him.

Went away at easter. thought you might like to see a few pics.

Re: Mercedes 3.0L turbo engine Conversion

Robert, Being ex-NZ army, I assume it's right hand drive. Are you going to convert it or have you converted it? If you are keeping it right hand drive, how do you think you'll cope being in a nation that insists on driving on the wrong side of the road? The reason why I ask is we are getting a lot o...

Re: Mercedes 3.0L turbo engine Conversion

Hey Warrick. All valid points.
The Merc engines (at least the ones I have been exposed to) are superbly engineered. I wouldn't mind seeing how Robert goes with the project.
Oh, and Merc bits should be cheaper and easier to source over there than they are here.

Re: Mercedes 3.0L turbo engine Conversion

I've seen a Rover V8 implanted into a Merc.
A diesel into a Stage 1 is a sensible conversion. Mine was originally a 3,9 Isuzu.
I'll watch this thread with interest.

Re: Any US 109 owners on here?

I'm sitting here in sunny SA at the moment. Port Elliot. I've a stack of Steeltreks at home. The ADF are auctioning off their old Steeltreks. 7.50 x 16 tyres are getting hard to find here. Your white County looked a nice one. A mate bought one earlier this year and is fixing it up. I'm looking aroun...

Re: Any US 109 owners on here?

Nice looking Landy there Chaz. I see you have the Olympic Steeltreks on it.
Here in Aus., some of the Stage 1's had an Isuzu 3.9 diesel. Mine originally was.
They are very sought after now.

Re: Another from Australia

Thanks for the welcome. For those in the land of cold summers and freezing winters, a picture of my Landy. http://i1074.photobucket.com/albums/w406/mick_marsh_AULRO/Chocolate%20Mill%20Run%20May%202012/DSC_0620.jpg Ok, very little of the Stage_1ness is left but it did start out as a 3.9d station wago...
