Re: Restoration
Those missing brackets where driving me insane; where the hell are they? Sorted through my photos and look ... https://i.postimg.cc/W32FLb68/brackets.jpg ... they're there. I took them off the panel stripping it apart. I have searched through my bags of bits taken off, boxes of bits that live in the...

Re: Restoration
I've been dry fitting the front wings and panel to make sure it all goes where it's supposed to before I commit to paint. I've spent more time searching for the 2 front angle brackets that secure the front grill to the panel than actually fitting anything. I took them off but have no idea where they...

Re: Restoration
After mulling over what to do with the seat box I decided it would be a whole lot easier to just replace the rusting boxes. I didn't feel motivated enough to remove rust, modify to take a bigger or duel battery setup, and try to make good, so opted to order new aluminium boxes from YRM. I would have...

Re: Restoration
The heater blower is not really a priority right now and I want to push on, so turned my attention to the seat box. It's in good condition apart from one end panel that has some corrosion damage, and a lot of surface rust on the outside of the battery and tool boxes. https://i.postimg.cc/fWSjzkz9/IM...

Re: Restoration
Heater Blower The last part that had been sitting in the pile with the dash parts was the heater blower. I made a start on this while I was doing the crash pad repair. I stripped it down and put the snail and some brackets, etc., in the electrolysis bath to de-rust. Not sure what happened, but I ca...

Re: Restoration
Carrying on with repairs. Next on the list is the upper dash crash padding. Like so many, mine has cracked and has damage to the foam padding. A previous owner had made an extremely poor attempt at a repair with some god awful silicone. I pulled that off and cleared the damage so that I could better...

Re: hazard switch wiring circuit
You're being a bit negative IMO. It's just a simple hand drawn sketch showing where the loose coloured wires in the loom go, illustrating the outcome of our conversation within the context of this thread and what is present on my own vehicle. I included the hazard loom kit part number in the...

Re: Restoration
I've been discussing this in another thread, but for the sake of completeness: I got back onto wiring as fitting the lower fascia, etc. back in place, so making sure I have loom and option wiring all running in the right place. It should all be straightforward really, but it's a bit confusing here a...

Re: hazard switch wiring circuit
Yep, I have the pukka push/pull switch and loom as per options catalogue. I got back onto wiring yesterday as I'm fitting the lower fascia, etc back in place so making sure I have loom and option wiring all running in the right place. It should all be straightforward really, but it's a bit confusing...

Re: hazard switch wiring circuit
I'll have one somewhere as I fitted a NOS kit some years ago. Two plugs to interpose with the trafficator plug. Two extra wires for the additional (larger) flasher, the flasher and holder and I think one extra loose wire going to the fuse box? Plus what now feeds to the dash centre to plug into the...

Re: Restoration
What a palavar. Getting the inner cable attached to the flaps and the outer cable to anchor tight in the cover. The tubular clip that holds it in place was slipping and wouldn't stay tight, the hole in the cover was worn loose, and it was driving me potty messing with it. I kept dropping the clip an...

After a lot of hammering and swearing, I managed to fashion a piece of steel to fit https://i.postimg.cc/Wz2hMxmZ/IMG-20230429-154617.jpg soon had it welded dressed and primed https://i.postimg.cc/nchXMbhb/IMG-20230502-103657.jpg then a coat of black satin https://i.postimg.cc/jd1S5D1P/IMG-20230502-...

Re: Restoration
Welding today. First, I got the end cover out of the electrolysis bath and gave it a rinse off https://i.postimg.cc/yYDNnV9V/IMG-20230426-104003.jpg Looks a lot cleaner now and I can better see what needs doing https://i.postimg.cc/GmsH3chM/IMG-20230426-104016.jpg Welding the patch in place was stra...
