Ignition

Hello all there, where do you set the timing point of your ignition? The manual says it has to be TDC. My engine is an original Stage One engine, with compression ratio 8,13:1. It was built to run fuel with 91 ROZ. If I run fuel with 95 ROZ or LPG, would it make sense to set ignition point on 7° bef...

carbs

Hi Rob, `see you`ve got a difficult problem. If the carb is worn, you can see it for example at the jets. The jets are not stil round when they are worn, you can see it when you look acurate. This means mostly, that the needles are worn out too. A worn needle can not always be recognized. A rather c...

Hi Chaps On the subject of oil pressure, just what should they run at? Mine rarely gets above 30 lbs and often drops below 5lbs. I use the truck almost every day and did a 500 miler last year to Gaydon and back without mishap. My 78 Range Rover runs at 50lbs most of the time. Tel Mine runs about 3 b...

Hi Rob, you should try to get your money back from these idiots. But how could the main bearing cap get lost? Does this happen to anyone else in the forum? Do I have to contol the caps? Any ideas? I`m a little bit worring about this, because I overhauled my engine about 8000 miles ago. Horst For you...

Hi, here again a question about gearboxoil in the LT95: The 80W90 is rather thick, and when it is cold it is only a little bit thinner than the 90 oil. Someone told me, that when it is very cold, it may happen that the oilpunpgear of the LT 95 would be destroyed, `cause it`s made of plastic. On the ...

Hello, after engine overhaul, mine does nearly the same as your`s. I didn`t drill any holes into the thermastat, because I never heard about this, but I can imagine that it works. I drove until the engine got warm (temperature gauge near red area) then I slowly opened the expansion-tank, (while doin...

Hi Matt, I dont`t know wether quick-steel is able to do this job alone. I would try quick-steel for closing the holes, and after drying I would put some sealpack over it for sealing. Sealpack is a kind of silicone, which isn`t destroyed by petrol or oil, and it keeps flexible. I`ve made very good exp...

Hi Terry,

thank`s for your answer. I looked into the diagram of the Serie2-Forum, and now I can tell you I have the rare ones, which are at the bottom of the diagram. The offset is too big. What a pitty.
I`ll look for the common 6,5" rims.

Cheers

Hi Bumpkin, I saw your car on the picture, and I ask myself wether you realy have the rims of the FC. I instaled my ones on the Stage One, and I had to recognize, that they don`t fit. The offset seems to be to big, because the tyres look out under the wings nearly 15 mm. Therefore I think, it would ...

Rims

Hi, I`ve got a pair of two SerieIIB FC-rims. Part-Nr is 569203, stamped on the plate of the rim. I want to instal them on my Stage One. The rims would give a very big offset; the centre part moved inwards to the point they are almost falling out the back of the rim, but otherwise look like the commo...

Topic: where do these pipes connect?

Hi,
these pipes are breather-pipes from the gearbox. They don`t have to be connected to any pipes, they have to be fixed on the right side, near the air filter, rather high so that no dirt or water can come in and they must remain open.

`hope this will help you.
