4 Cylinder don`t work

Hello, `ve got a difficult problem: I ran my car, and everything was ok, like always. Then, after a week it didn`t start again. I renewed the sparks, and the car started only on 4 cylinders. It didn`t start with choke, and so I gave full throttle and then four cylinders worked. The cylinder Nr 1, 7,...

Hi, I tried 123 Ignition. I was not satisfied, because when the engine got warm, it ran very bad and misfired. On LPG the engine even stoped idling. So I put my original distributor with contacts in again, it works much better. My partdealer says that the 123 distributor was defekt and he repaired i...

Hi,

I think the reason for the judder could be the backlash in the splines of the rear propshaft. Mine does the same. I think if you want to correct it, you need a new propshaft.

Hi, I did a gearbox swap. I got a gear box from a RR and put it into my Stage One. My Speedometer shows miles and km. With the RR gearbox, my Speedo shows much less km/H than with Stage One Gearbox. I tested it with another car, and when my speedo shows that I`m runnig 50 miles, I`m realy running ne...

Hi, It seems, you`re interested in a pair of SU`s on ebay. I did the same, and it was a good choice. But you must pay attention; if the needles and jets are worn, maybe you will not be able to tune them correctly, because with worn needles and jets the mixture will probably always remain to rich. I ...

Hello all together, first I thank you all for the answers. I researched some hours about this theme, and now I can tell you, Stirling and Dave are completly right. Many people in the scene say that 80W-90 is too thick, but it is not so. The viscosity of 80W-90 is nearly the same as that of 20w-50. I...

New Project

Hello all there, I´ve got a new project- a Stage One, what wonder. Someone has put a 6,3 ltr Diesel in it, but I will instal the V8 again. The car has an original overdrive. Seems to be a little bit of work, `will see. Here are some pics of the "new one"- a pickup and the rest of my collec...

Gearbox-Oil LT95

Hello all there, what oil do you drive in your LT95 gearbox? The manual says in old ones SAE90, and in newer ones engine oil 15W-40. How can I decide whether I have an old or a new one? Can the oilpump work with SAE90 or SAE 80W-90? Is there anybody who has tried it for a longer time?Would it make s...

Hi, there has been a thread in the forum about gear ratio. You have to look at the number of the gearbox, and so you can draw the conclusion what ratio it is. I think the answer was given by Johnnyboy. If you take ratio 0,9:1 and an overdrive, I think you have overgeared. I have the original Stage O...

Hi Kipa, I use 20W-50, and change it after about 8000 km. I could imagine that 10W-40 is to thin. You should pay attention if you want to swap over from a mineral oil to a synthetic after your engine has done many miles on mineral oil. The synthetic oil can loosen the sediments in the engine, this s...

chassis number

Hi, a question about chassis number: I`ve been offered a Stage One, chassis number is SALLBCMV2AA.... As far as I know, M means station waggon and ...V2... means LHD. But it is a pick up, and it is RHD. Have there been exceptions, or do you believe someone has changed from a LHD sation Waggon to a R...

Hi, I run 20W50 in my engine, changing it every 7500 km, and it`s cheap. I overhauled my engine, new bored and new pistons, but like you, I didn`t renew the valve guides. So the oil consumtion of my car is about 1,5-2 ltr on 1000 km, it depends on journey and driving style. There isn`t blue smoke co...
