firemanshort l am glad l am not the only one. ended up with a screwdriver under a edge and gently prizing out :D

most dificult job was getting the oil pump cover off and removing the shaft drive cog, it didnt want to come out but after lots of twisting l got it out

hello l am trying to remove my distributer - BUT I CANT! l have undone the clamp bolt and the dissy will rotate still in the shaft - but l cannt withdraw it from the engine what stupid thing have l forgotten to do? l am fitting a new dissy so will ensure TDC is sorted before putting the new one in. ...

hi Seb - interested in your engine please l cannot remember all the details of your spare engine - is it all complete minus the push rods and rockers. ie carbs (su/strom)? are rockers required? what will be required to complete the engine and have it running again? minium oil and filter change thanks
