Stage 1 V8

Well, I have just got in from my very first drive in my Landy on the road!! Was soooooo AWESOME!

I will post some new pictures of inside and out after my renovation when it has been washed at the weekend!!

My Landy is painted in Masai Red, with Limestone hard top. I painted the wheels this weekend, in Hammerite Cream! Which looks awesome, covers well, and isn't far off the Limestone (Y) TOP TIP! hahaa

Ok the big day that I have been waiting for is tomorrow!! MY 17th BIRTHDAY!!!

Today I have painted the wheels to match the hard top as they were in a very bad state, and tomorrow, is the day that I can legally drive that beast on the phone!!! WAHOOO!

Ok, GREAT NEWS!!! The Landy now has an MOT! The shims were added to the NSF CV Joint, The small patch of welding to the chassis has been done, And my engine is no longer constantly backfiring!! With the Hydrocarbon emissions reading at 7,500 when they should be about 2,000 things weren't looking too...

They idle lovely, but when under any pressure they just constantly backfire.
The mechanic has worked on them before, including the ones on my brothers 2 Door Classic Range Rover.

Not sure if an overhaul kit would do it? I will have to find out

Ok, the mechanic has had my Landy now for over 3 weeks, and he has only just started work on it. This is just the start of my problems! the carbs the I had put on them so that it would pass its Hyrdocarbon emissions test are not working properly. Just looking at the pictures again, Are they the original doors? Or have they been changed for later ones, with winding windows.. mod cons hey!!

Ah. Erm, well the mechanic has said he has been able to make a float pin for it. Not sure how long that is going to last though to be honest. So I am still on the lookout.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help. After finally getting my stage one to the garage, after a bit of a disaster, the mechanic has told me that there is a float pin missing from one of the carbs. Has anyone got a float pin for an SU Carb? or even a SU Carb that doesnt work but the float pin is ...
