LT95 replacement
My gearbox has been on it's last legs for a while now and so I acquired a replacement LT95 out of an early Rangey some time ago. Is it easiest to remove the motor first or is it easy enough to try and get it out with motor still in place?

Re: Post-refurb woes!
may be worth draining out the old fuel. my fuel tank seems to be a magnet for water which doesn't make it run too well after it's been sitting outside for a while

Re: Viscous Fan Clutch - how stiff is yours?
good question there mate. the manual describes it as an "inertia damper" which sounds different to a viscous fan.

Re: About to Purchase NZ 109 V8
It would pay to go over it carefully for rust as the cost of removal will probably be more than the truck is worth. Check floor and door pillars, rear cross member and bulkhead. Being ex-army it will be 24 volt which means you will have to look around a bit for some parts. I might be able to help yo...

Re: Mercedes 3.0L turbo engine Conversion
i totally recommend the power steering option, just done mine and wow, what an improvement! all i needed was a defender column and intermediate shaft which then bolted straight onto the disco steering box. i used a disco 1 power steering setup as i changed the motor to a 3.9 which is a pretty easy c...

pull the slave cylinder out of the bellhousing and have a look, it could be leaking where you can't see it. my one failed without any prior warning at all

Re: Replacing a stage 1 gearbox with an LT77 gearbox
maybe try bigger tyres with the guts out of a rangey transfer box first. this will help a lot before you spin off on chassis modifying tangents. there is a lot of info the the net, you just need to sift thru it. my understanding is the lt77 is not as strong as a lt95 but never had any experience wit...
