Re: Looking for ASH 770W

Looking at https://www.vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ the tax ran out in June 2002 so its been off the road a while. You could contact the DVLA to ask them to tell you the previous/current recorded owner - https://www.gov.uk/request-information-from-dvla

Re: Distributor wanted

Not sure if you're looking for a new one, but SimonBBC has a good reputation - I'll be fitting one of his kits most likely, but he does sell individual distributors as well -

SU HS6 jets etc

Hi all, Well I keep on accumalating parts :) I've just bought a pair of SU HS6 1.75" carbs to replace the HIF44s that are currently fitted. The HIFs are working fine, but I prefer the HS6's simplicity and ease of setting up. I was wondering if anyone else is running HS6s, and if so what needle,...

Re: v8 Buick 4.9 300 1964

The early 1980's Rangie Classic had the Torqueflite 727 3 speed auto, so I guess if your autobox is a TF727 then it should be possible?

Re: Hello from Yorkshire

Sadly, due to work and family pressure, I have done absolutely zip on my Stage1  I did however fire her up last night as I'll need to move her tonight. I was amazed that the battery had enough charge left in it as I haven't run the engine for many many weeks! Bad I know. The carbs had drained o...

Re: Steering relay help

See the V8 Supplement, pages 57-1, 57-2, 57-3, 57-4. Covers removal, refitting and overhaul of the steering relay. Brilliant, thanks for that disco2hse. I was just about to ask if anyone knew where I could find instructions on how to overhaul the stage 1 relay :) I recently bought a supposedly NOS ...

Re: ** STOLEN ** Stage One SW

I'm always trawling ebay for spares so I'll keep an eye out for this one. I doubt the thieves realised how special it was - probably thought it was just another defender...  Very sorry to hear about it, the owner must be quite distressed

Re: Hello from Slough (Berkshire)

Re the paint, if you have a decent bodyshop/car paint supplier near to you, they'll have a tool that they put over a paint sample which allows them to make up a perfect match. It cost me £17 (IIRC) for a large aerosol for this service last year. I have to admit it wasn't a perfect match, but is near...

Re: Hello from Slough (Berkshire)

Hmmm Slough... I'm in Doncaster lol. If you can get it all on a pallet when you've removed it then it might be doable. Can you take lots of pics as you remove it, and ideally tag any wires? Muchos gracias :D

Re: Hello from Yorkshire

Thanks Alan. I'll have a look at other cars fitted with the Rover V8 3.5 and see how they controlled the heater. I'm thinking of Rover SD1, TR8, TVR, Rangie Classic etc etc. I'll report back on any solutions that I find.
