not sure if this is an improvement.

More from scumtree. I think the waffle translates to he bought it for a song and now wants to pay off his house in one hit. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/wynnum/cars-vans-utes/landrover-1980-series-3-stage-1-3-9l-isuzu-diesel-utility/1280906407?utm_source=criteo&utm_medium=retargeting&utm_...

Re: 3.5 carb to 4.6 conversion advice
Displacement isn't the issue, the torque difference is. Using a vehicle in which the standard engine has to be fitted with inhibitors. Plenum is probably too tall for the bonnet and all the wiring has to be extended to mount the ECU in the tool box. Plus making the exhaust fit and mounting Lambda se...

Re: Vendor Source for Rear Axle half shafts
There's not that much point or benefit. The weak points are at either end where you must narrow to meet the diff or flange. A thicker shaft (which most of the 'stronger' aftermarket items profess) still has the same weak spots. The metalergy difference of some non-standards can be a plus. However ge...

Re: Swivel pin housings
Metal is removed from the internal faces of an otherwise standard hub. This has been covered before and someone had posted pictures of the contact areas.

This may well do: https://mgbhive.co.uk/product/90611532-gtv8-inlet-manifold-water-pipe/ scroll down on this one: https://www.ukmgparts.com/catalogue/mgb-midcat-8-submgb11-v8-carburettors-and-inlet-manifold appears to be the item but for whatever reason the hose end is shorter. At least it's listed.

Re: 3.5 V8 Component Clarification.
From memory the external hose fitting will unscrew. But there's nothing but round to grab so you may destroy the old one getting it out. The internal tube you'll have to fabricate. As used manifolds are relatively cheap you may find it easier to replace the assembly.

Re: 3.5 V8 Component Clarification.
Look in your parts book, electronic scanned copies are free. 1. Formal stem seals like you might find on an A or B series motor (a boot over the valve guide) don't arrive until years later. 2. The OTTER is standard to all carb models and expensive to replace. This is a bimetallic switch, not a temp ...

Re: Speedometer
What about it? Same questions I would ask for any modification approval, as vague verbal digressions aren't useful. Precisely which 110 and what have you done to prove the donor vehicle internals, ie the speedo pinion and drive are the same as needed for the recipient vehicle? Precisely ID the gearb...

Re: Thrust washer thickness..
Look in your service bulletins under Range-Rover, late 1970s early 1980s. There were non standard sizes available and had to be of a special material.

Re: Roll cage
The cage is one thing, what it's mounted to is the next issue. Just from the concept of 'falling' over, which is a very low speed reality, the Australian design for the army 110 is reasonable and unobtrusive. Plus providing high and low seat belt anchorages. I think I have the EMEI (EMER) for the up...
