Re: Stuck on diff lock?
Yes - plunger moves - light goes on an off. I think it is inside the centre-diff. What I really need is a few days off where I can catch up on household chores and make dedicated time to take a crack at this with some wrenches. I have been on solid business travel for two week. It pays the Land Rove...

Stuck on diff lock?
My center diff lock plungers moves back and forth and the indicator light on the dash turns on and off as it should with the movement of the center diff lock switch. But.... the diff is still locked no matter what. I have jacked the wheels up and confirmed positive lock between the different axles (...

Re: Chassis
I am not sure where the OP is located ... but there is a custom galvy coil spring rolling chassis for sale in Northern Virginia USA. I bought a new galvy chassis from Richards in the UK and had it shipped to me in Virginia. It was a bit of a bother to get it imported. Several of the mounting bracket...

They'll end up in the States, attached to a Puma powered Defender with the owner pleading total innocence and ignorance. Several years ago - I would have bet hard earned money that this was indeed the final destination for an item like this. We used to have a good supply of 1973 "Defenders&quo...

Rolling Chassis in Virginia, USA
THIS IS NOT MY LISTING - I found it and am re-posting. https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/cto/d/land-rover-109-rolling-coil/6467485627.html The seller says that it is a coil sprung Stage One frame. From the photos - it sort of looks that way. If there are any Stage One owners in the USA that ha...

Re: Perth, WA Stage 1 V8 purchase
Plunger knob in the middle of the seat is the Center Diff Lock (CDL). Pull out to engage and the dash light should come on. It is vacuum operated. Lots of opportunities for dry rotted air lines and air leaks to cause issues here but all simple to fix. The smaller up and down lever is the transfer ca...

Too few exist in the USA to have a reliable set of compatible / market prices.
Too much variance in condition to give a narrow price band.
Estimates would be between $5K to $20K depending on condition. A real special / high quality sample might go for $30K+ (glossy paint / galvy frame / 5 door)

2017 National Land Rover Rally - USA
2017 National Land Rover Rally - Leadville, CO / July 24, 2017 - July 28, 2017 I loaded up my Stage One on a trailer and hauled it over 1,700 miles from Virginia to Colorado for the National Rally. This rally offered trail rides starting at 10,000 feet / 3,000 meters in altitude and rose to almost 1...

Can we scan and share the latest article for those of us without access to UK magazines?
This sounds like a cool story to keep up with.

My radiator is 6 years old. I used a temp gun and saw a reliable 20oF drop accross the core when running at temp.

Overheating
I packed up my truck with the intention of driving 8 hours from the Washington DC area to the southern coast of North Carolina to catch a ferry out to Portsmouth Island on the Outer Banks to do a little camping with a group of Land Rover buddies. I got as far as 2 hours from my house and had to stop...

Re: wanted the 2 front halfshafts for Stage One
You would be lucky to find some - and they will not be cheap. I recommend you do some searching around the various forums and learn about using early Defender outer shafts. I am using one on my truck - I have a little less than 2 years of service on it (4,000 miles - some of them being hard off road...
