as i stated a little while ago i had a problem with my brakes, well it turned out to be one of my new wheel cylinders, less than 4yrs old n cert not used that much in those 4yrs, when i checked the front off side, the top wheel cylinder was leaking badly, i rang my local supplier & ordered a rep...

brake fault fonud

well i found the prob today, it was one of my newish (as in the last four years) wheel cylinders, the seal had totaly gone but for some reason the brake fluid was not leaking out of the wheel hub... so not only has a newish cylinder packed up on me but its also ruined my newish brake shoes replaced ...

no carpet im afriad, think will just have to replace the master cylinder gasket and see if that will cure it.. wudnt mind but gf`s car failed m.o.t on brakes, so replaced every thing, pads, discs and shoes n now car got for my son got to have the same done to it aswell... :shock: :roll:

used the landy one day, (brakes not to good), then left it for a few days, went to use it again n no brakes at all, when had time, checked all the brake lines, none leaking, no leaks evident on hubs (bearing in mind all wheel cylinders have been replaced in the last 3yrs) no leak round the servo, so...

know what you mean on that one, im lucky mine dont live with me so not such a prob plus gf got a car aswell, im thinking of putting the full top back on anyway for a while, i just think they look so back heavy with it on..

i do suffer from this but i think on mine its more down to trimming than petrol, ive also put a filter king on, this is a presureised filter which could help with that prob..

best thing to try is a switched live from the batterie to the coil live, you will have to switch it off to stop the engine, plus dont leave it on if your working on the engine, (coil will over heat) this will cure it if its a wiring prob, if it dose not sort it then you distributor needs a revamp...

try real steel, they are a lot cheaper than R.P.I. & a lot more helpful. & they put the oil pump drive you need on for you... ive got a 4 barrel on mine, plus a mallory electronic distributor.. works v well..

mine dosnt have a nut, it has lots of small one round the inside of the pulley, & think il just knock something up for the pulley socket rather than buy one..

troub is cant turn by hand, think its got somit to do with the hi-lift cam, so going to have to make something to go into the crank handle slot i think..

All i wanted to do is turn the engine so i could time it better, rather than rock the landy in 2nd gear, its not easy getting T.D.C when you busy rocking it... :lol:
