FUEL STARVATION PROB'S
Went out in the Stage 1 today and ended up being towed home by my mates 109. The engine was running but would only go for about 1/2 a mile before losing power and would tickover but almost die if you tried to move off. If you let it tickover for 30 secs it would recover for another 1/2 mile of so. I...

Well Its been in place for a couple of days now and it seems to have cured the leak. I think I was lucky in that I was able to put it in both sides of the holes, ie through the drain plug. It really is one of those products that seems to work and as Horst says, the replacements are rubbish and made ...

FUEL TANK REPAIRS
Filled up with fuel earlier in the month only to get the continual smell of fuel around the Landy over the next few days. Then I noticed a drip coming from the bottom of the tank around the drain plug. I tried the easist of possibilities..........tighten up the drian plug, but this was already tight...

Richard, That is very interesting, the pick up top has certainly been added at some point as there is evidence of a lower hinge having been in place on the offside rear wing. There are also two holes on top of the bumper, I thought they might have been some holes for additional driving lights, but I...

Pictures from Woburn woods.
Hi, Hopefully if my limited (very) IT skills have worked, you should be able to see some pics of my stage 1. I have just changed the seatbelts to inertia types and we took it for a blast through the woods. I have yet to change the doors as they look fine from the outside, but the frames are totally ...

Hi Alan, Thanks for that, I do think the gearbox needs a bit of work as on tickover in neutral it is quite noisy until the clutch is depressed, presumably stopping the gearbox from turning. It is also a bit noisy in first second and third, however when in fourth, it is fairly quiet. On the plus side...

Hi Choc-ice, I too was faced with this problem, just the other day whilst helping a friend change the clutch on his 2 1/4 series 3. We had just bolted the box back on when he noticed the said clip and rod on the floor below. After trying for 10 mins to get it back on, we gave up and whipped the box ...

New Stage 1 owner in Bucks
Hi there, After reading a few articles in magazines and on the internet, I have sold my lovely 3 series BMW softop to make way for a Land Rover...the BMW was far too nice and relible! I figured that it wouldn't cost much more to run a stage 1 than a 2 1/4 109, so after seeing one advertised in Leice...
