Re: Fairey
When I had to get such hard to find info for my Thomas winch (I wanted to convert it from electric to PTO), I went to the manufacturer, only to learn the company had been sold, so I went to the new owners. After some haggling and convincing, I managed to get them to send me the working drawings for ...

Re: After Market Steel Wheels in NZ
Hi, Not sure if you are still looking. If this is a for an ex-NZDF 109 V8, be careful of the offset. IIRC, more modern wheels tend to bring the inner rim too close to the chassis wall because later axles were wider and may have included disc brakes, etc. That being said, I have seen several with Dis...

Re: Back In The Fold.
Well done!
I do envy you. I would love to have a Stage 1 HCPU. Is it running 900x16 tyres?

I would probably ask one of the rebuilders you have there. What about an ex-Rangie box too?
Rebuild kits are still available for these aren't they?

Re: NZ Stage 1s
Sorry, very late reply.
There were several auctions over a couple of years, and some vehicles were decommissioned during the course of their service period. However, roughly 350.

Re: Alice to the road!!
Excellent.
As for mud tyres, given the cost I wonder if it is worth it. They do tend to wear faster than ATs simply because of the blocks (smaller point pressure, so greater wear). Depends on the brand I guess.

Re: Putting a S3 PTO in a Stage One
So yeah. Series III won't go in. Pretty much everything is different to an LT95 PTO output.
I have a PTO winch on mine and it is fine, safetywise.

It seems not. It is one of those things that unless someone is stripping and selling off, then they'll want theirs.

Re: Howdy, Names Stirling
Hi Stirling, Hope you and the family are doing well. It is one of those things I guess. It was a good platform to learn on and you moved to other challenges. It certainly has been treated poorly. Looks like it's been sitting in a ditch for some time. If I read that right, it's only running on rear w...
