I agree. Even if the diaphragm has died, they are otherwise simple and reliable. To go mechanical you will have to hook up a push/pull lever or cable system. Plus the adaptor to replace the diaphragm and seal the box. Something like the underslung PTO operating cable. But possibly with one cable for...

All of the above.

Though if you haven't twigged, the car five fuel filters.

Strainer at the tip of the fuel pick-up.
Filter in the base of the pump.
Paper element filter under the air cleaner.
Micro filters on each needle and seat inside the carbs.

I clicked on the 'more stuff you may like' link and there was a selection of nice ex-army Stage Ones. Though all very expensive.

Thanks,
I've just downloaded an electronic copy of the parts list. By this I should be using the later type. But as I have an Australian assembled car, almost anything is possible. I will have to compare with the 110 list to see which part carries over.

Thanks but you are both missing the point. If you look in your handbook it lists two air cleaners: Standard; ie for UK models which is the Range-Rover type. Adverse conditions; ie export to Australia models, which is the large barrel. I'm suggesting there are two versions of the large barrel (but no...

Its strange that the American market hasn't picked up on Australasia as a good source of Series III's. Anyway, looking at the engine bay picture on this add poses a question for me. Is there two versions of the large air cleaner? Not the Range-Rover type nor the Cyclopac fitted to Australian diesels...

If you have a steering lock, then its listed in the Optional Parts Catalogue. This is regardless of whether the steering lock was factory fitted. The cables are unique. Though a lot of it may come down to length and what fitting is on the carb end. If you don't have steering lock, then there are a c...

I don't have a laser temp gauge to measure all this. They're damn expensive. But as ambient temp is going to be anywhere up to 40 deg C, what's the problem? Seems to be as lot of over thinking. The engine's thermostat won't be opening till at least 82 deg. Operating temp will be above this. Conducti...

So for us it only really leaves the 110 CV (non ABS etc.) as the target.

I will have to get the Commonwealth to donate a couple to my cause and see what can be done.

You think that's dear? Add another 100 GBP minimum, multiply by 2.5, and if the total exceeds $1000, expect a call from the Excise man when it arrives. Then repeat for the other side. Local new stock: NIL. If you check the various suppliers you may need to be clear about what you are getting. I vagu...

Despite some rather good workmanship in certain areas, it wouldn't be legal in Queensland by a long shot.

If you were determined to go disc, I would look at the Rocky Mountain kit or similar.

As annoying as the drum arrangement is, when well maintained it is acceptable.
