Re: some exotic Stage 1 in Germany

This is great reading. It's good to see that the HCPU went to a good owner.

The driveline is very interesting. Quite different to the way Perentie did it.

Do you have the air bags?

Re: ISUZU 3.9 IN U.K

Cheers. I am guessing your only option will be to enquire with Vanuatu, but good luck with that. The state infrastructure is at times quite inefficient and ineffective. It will be impossible to know how many were imported to the UK because they would have been private deals. Official export records ...

Re: ISUZU 3.9 IN U.K

You ask about "the number of factory Isuzu engined stage 1s". These were a local variant in Australia. While there are those that were assembled there with those engines as an option, they cannot be considered "factory" in the sense that they were built in the UK, knocked down, a...

Probably sitting by the fire if the photos I'm seeing from there is anything to go by

Meanwhile, it's a warmish 28ºC here at the moment. Probably a gazillion degrees in Oz though!

Re: Restoration

I have early Disco1 exhaust manifolds on mine. Very tight squeeze and the pipe work at the bottom is different (larger diameter). But it fits.

Re: Stage One HCPU production numbers

The one ton also had 900x16 wheels IIRC with longer spring shackles. There was one on here some years ago. Pageant blue I think.

Re: Stage 1 Project

Good to see it go to someone who cares and they are a good motor to learn with.

I would say to pull the bugger apart and then make the decision. You may be able to replace parts (outriggers, rear cross member, and such) instead of the whole thing? A chassis is not cheap.

Super impressed with your work. Good luck with the tests. This virus has sure been an annoying interruption, but it is what it is. We have to adjust to stay safe, especially when we are unwell (me too by the way)
