The only reason i only used my overdrive as a 5th gear only was so it would last longer. Yes i agree that the warning plate inside the cab did state to use the overdrives in 3rd and 4th only.

Probably wont have another one now so this lot needs to go 1 complete Stage 1 front axle. 1 pair of complete Stage 1 hubs. Rear exhaust section. Various transmission tunnel panels bits. LT95 gearbox. Complete Stage 1 Steering setup (Steering wheel to wheel hub) 2 Stage 1 unique steering relays. 1 se...

I think the Lt95 unit is strong enough provided you dont use them in the low gears. The V8 torque is just to much. Use them as a 5th gear and they go on forever. Look after em as there are very few replacement spare available now.

Raggylad. The LT95 overdrive is constantly splashfed down the 2 channels on the inside next to the mainshaft cog. Unless the 2 holes at the end of the channel become clogged there should be no oil starvation.

Jamie One of the main reasons for overdrive failure on the smaller series units is oil starvation. This was cured on the LT95 unit as it is splash fed. I dont know quite how gears and stress work but i do know the most common way to trash a lt95 overdrive is to put to much torque through the unit in...

I have sold my Stage 1 now but still have bits left over.On the O/D unique linkage, it is very simple to make.I copied an original bar by just beating a length of 12mm bar in the vice with a lump hammer to create the same part. Drilled a hole each end and made the slot with a slitting disc in a 5&qu...
