Re: Restoration

It is an absolute pleasure seeing the application of old school techniques on an engine.

You can come and clean my engine anytime, I wish it looked like yours!

Re: Exhaust mounting

I think that maybe Cliff might be your best bet. Have a look through his rebuild photos in the first instance.

Re: Exhaust mounting

Do you mean the fixing points on the chassis or the assemblies that attach the exhaust?

Short answer, no.

Slightly longer answer, what is your definition of "arm"?

Re: Heater box pipework numbers?

Guessing you are referring to the metal pipes. These appear to have been craftily made from unobtainium. However, a radiator repairer ought to be able to make the same if you already have them.

Re: Ex army v8 ignition problems

That'd be the go. Problem is that most set ups these days are for domestic RVs that want to charge their solar batteries and the current is limited and regular. Otherwise, give Ron Wood a call at Ron Wood Autoelectrical in Pt Chev Auckland. He's done electrics on NZDF Stage 1s for years, so he knows...

Re: Lack of Power, Help please.

It is more likely to have made it to the carbs than not, and it is not far from there to your inlet manifold.

And then, the existing braking system is actually pretty good if it is well maintained, and the power output/efficiency, steering, etc is what it is. If you want One Ten characteristics, then buy one of those. :)

Re: Lack of Power, Help please.

That'll do it. It is a pretty ugly mess. Looks like water in there too. I suggest a carb rebuild is in order (which is not a bad idea anyway) and I would also get a compression test on your cylinders because if any of that crud has made it into your cylinders it will have acted as a pretty good grin...

Re: Almost completed project!

Very nice looking vehicle. Be a shame to see it go.

Call Classic 4x4 parts in Avondale, Auckland. They might have an air box on the shelf, otherwise Forward Specialties in Henderson.

Yep, these are becoming increasingly rare. Pretty sure I saw it on FB too. There was not a lot left on it, ...But then I have seen some pretty amazing restoration jobs.
