Well, I've had about 10 SII, IIa's, and 3's that had those same hi/low and 4wd controls. Except mine weren't LHD.

hehe. No chimneys in my truck either. Mine used to look just like yours gary, until the edelbrock and 465 holley got chucked in! I used that humongous air filter on my 4 cyl diesel powered woodsplitter. Works a treat! Man, I'm gonna get rid of that damn 28V 100 amp generator and all that associated ...

I think the front output shaft housing is shorter in the rangie.

I'm gonna get one myself, but all I will do is change the transfer gears. I can do that in situ.

Sounds easy.

btw. Arc welding is no more messy than mig, except for a bit of slag. Its certainly cheaper, and IMO, easier. I have only used mig a couple of times, as I really have never had the need for it. My arc/tig does all I ever want, and the oxy/acetylene plant for exhaust tubing, cutting and the like. I'm...

Grinder for removal of your outrigger.

Still, even with a mig, care should be paramount when welding L.R chassis!

Good luck.

I would be very careful welding on a chassis outrigger if you are not an experienced welder. Vertical up welding is not easy. And, to make it even harder, many L.R chassis's are not *cough* overly sound. Chassis rails are not thick to begin with, and it is easy to blow holes in the chassis wall. oop...

Very nice. I am impressed!

I have a fairly low power electric job. About a 7000lb I think. It will pull the landy out of the mud, up some fairly steep stuff but anything too serious it gives up. Pretty much all I need, but a grunter would be handy from time to time.

Good link Andy. Thanks.
