There's something wrong with the set up for the forum. The images are only linked to their original source. They aren't attachments. When I log in I can see them normally, so it must be the permissions that are not right. Anyway, these are the links. http://www.winwaed.com/landy/mil/lfig149.gif http...

Radiator flush is what you need. You can get it from pretty much aynwhere you'd normally get oils and stuff. Follow the instructions carefully, the stuff can be nasty. And put the right amount of antifreeze to suit your local conditions. Do it from the top heater hose to make certain you get to all ...

Good stuff. Nice looking wagon :)

18mpg is about right. Mine ranges from 17-20.

When you change the thermostat, it may be a good idea to give the whole engine a good flush too. That may fix the heater issue you mentioned.

It is probable that your systems will vary from the NZ FFR's. I have a wiring diagram that is pretty accurate to our system here, but it is military, 24 V (100A and 60A) and includes the dual charging systems, noise suppression, etc. So it is probably not very useful for you. Anyway here is a wiring...

That was only on the standard series vehicles, II and IIa for example.

I'll see what I can do about photos.

Switch on the dash, with two fuel pumps, etc. Quite good really, you have a redundant system in place in case of them fails :)

Oh right. Haven't seen that around.

My FFR has one under the driver's seat and one at the rear. The filler pipes are both on the right.

The vehicle batteries are located under the passenger seat.

So it does, well spotted :)

The Haynes manual has information about what oils need to be changed and how to do it for the V8's, but having a copy of the handbook would be great.

Wonder if the folks at Solihull might some stuffed into the back of some shed...

For the V8 info you need the V8 Supplement.

I didn't know there was a specific Stage 1 manual??? IS that true?

Second, the brakes. I remember first driving mine and wondering how Land Rover ever managed to sell these things legally! V8, drum brakes, no servo? Before there were disc brakes there were power assisted drum brake, and before that, hydraulic, and before that mechanical, and before that, a stick h...

A few real beginner questions because I've bought it and pick it up in 3 weeks - how do you drive it? Clutch in to engage and disengage overdrive? Do you need to stop to engage the diff lock? With the centre diff locked 1 front and 1 rear wheel always have drive, is that right? Just a couple...
