By way of update Adrian Flux have agreed to reimburse me for the cost of putting the restrictors back in.I am still out of pocket though as I have taken them out again as they can insure me now.

As a PS to this saga the insurers emailed me (bold as brass) a week later ( after I had put them back in) saying the additional premium is 75 sterling.After telling me it was uninsurable.
