Horst, how does your road licensing work in the Netherlands? While anyone in NZ can convert from any type of fuel to another you won't get the changes certified as road safe unless they pass a rigorous check. And it won't get a warrant of fitness unless it has been certified, so it'll be illegal on ...

Body-wise it looks very straight (compared with George anyway ;) ). The things you have mentioned just indicate a lack of regular maintenance on the mechanicals and should be easily fixable over a few weekends (if you do it yourself), or fairly inexpensive if you get a reputable mechanic to do the j...

Is the brake overhaul kit the same as the 6 cylinder Series 3s? Unless the Series iii in question has a servo and 3" drum brakes, probably not. I thought that's what Stage 1s all had? Jeez, I'm such a newbie to this  Yes, that is what stage 1's have, but not all series 3's are stage 1's ...

The brakes on George are actually very good. They have to be to get a warrant of fitness every 6 months. If yours are as bad as you say there is problem with them. Did you check the fluid levels? Did they improve after pumping? And yes, they would stop a 3.5 tonne load, provided it has at least one ...

Re: Re-Cored

I was able to locate a shop filled with old world craftsman - you know the type - guys that fix things rather than throw them away and buy a new car. In Washington, DC - a craftsman is very hard to find. Never the less, the radiator was deemed a non-fixer and was re-cored. It is all cleaned up and ...

Good stuff man. What you have done has certainly got me thinking for when the old donk shuffles off its electrical coil.

Got the idea with the noise, but I thought you had left the lens cap on at the start ;)

Re: Oil pressure switch leakage

There's oil covering the front diff that, as far as I can tell, is coming from the oil pressure switch. I've looked in the manual but can find no instructions on how to replace the switch. Does anybody out there have previous experience with this issue. How do I replace the switch, do I need to dra...

Well, mate. I read the posts on your link and having had some experience with having had to repair obsoleted radiators over the years, your best and cheapest option is to either recore the radiator or as someone suggested, find a similar one and scavenge the core from that (you then need to be caref...

pto for LT95??

Anyone know if it is possible/likely that I can get a centre PTO for my LT95?

ebay is not preferred, and the only ones I've found by Google are in Holland.

Thanks
Alan

I use 30lb all round on road and anything down to 12lb off-road. I use Jeep Service 7.50 x 16's. I have run mine at 25lb to see how they work, the results were that while the ride was much better, grip was not improved and uneven wear increased. The tyres are an off-road tyre and are not really reco...

Frankly I would think the Stage 1 would be a safer vehicle than that power machine.

Weight for weight the V8 is far less powerful than your car. On the other hand, it has no air bags ;) Come to think of it, nor does the latest Defender (on the passenger's side a least).
