Good so far and from what I understand, its the drive gears that differentiate a Stage One box from a Range-Rover (plus the gear levers and mechanism).

As per the previous postings: refer to the parts book. Obviously Rover kept the tyre size as the defining factor which for us is 7.50 x 16. Why make it any more complex? For the average person, the SNT only becomes a means of confirming that no one has buggered with the speedo. What some one could d...

Well no, that isn't the conclusion as there are different speedo's for Series III.

The answer is: A Stage One speedo is the same as a Series III with 7.50 x 16" tyres.

You have posted a picture of the fuel/temp cluster.

You may well find there's more problems between the outer protection plate and the actual fuel tank. You might be better to remove the sender and take a look inside. All the tank glues are only a patch repair. You will be looking at a new tank. I just bought a new Britpart replacement which was a to...

If you actually get to this message:

I gather from your last line (after all the repairs) that your are reading hot but bottom tank is cold?

Not a dodgy earth to the gauges or v/stab? This scared the crap out of me one day.

Well that was some shocking grammar. Brain work quicker than fingers.

Anyway;

what's the story with the TDi? Is this a local conversion (an Army or Motorcorp creation), or a special order from Rover?

are there anymore RPS to follow?

OK, up and running and just about to kill my printer. However I only seem to have the RPS, not EMEI's.

That's not entirely correct. Though the idea is there. As the speedo's have their own internal gearing, you are reliant on having (or your repairer having) a correct gear set. As most UK Jaeger/Smiths internal components are built to a standard format, you can raid and swap as required. The repairer...

Never seen it before nor noticed any mention of it in the wiring diagram.

What colour is the wire? Also looks to be braided which isn't standard. This isn't an ex Army unit by chance?

Radiator tank looks to have another repair below this sender.

Vehicle sides are only viewed from the driver's seat.

The drive gears are the difference to make it all work. Otherwise the Stage One uses the standard Ser III speedo for 109" with 7.50 x 16" tyres. There are about three variants of this depending on what the face reads in: KPH, MPH, both, and which ever one is dominant. The Jaeger coding at ...

Last week on Trade Me some one was selling a job lot of the local Mallory conversion parts (N.O.S). I certainly got the impression that everything was still readily available. As there were no Lucas parts I wasn't bidding. I was of the understanding that all NZDF Stage Ones were 24 volt standard. I ...
