Centre Diff Lock Switch Hose Connections
I think someone was asking about this a while ago and I think no-one could say for sure which vacuum hose goes where. I'm in the middle of wrecking an old Range Rover so I made sure to check before I took it all apart. On the back of the difflock switch, there are three little pipes. If you hold the...

Oh dear, looks like a bit of confusion! The County - or more correctly called, as someone else pointed out, the early 110 - CVs are supposed to be as strong as the Stage I. The Stage I had some of the strongest CVs from the Land-Rover range, so no worries there. The 110 CVs are shorter, and apparent...

I have a Stage I speedo drive pinion I've just had a look at and it has 20 teeth on it. The worm gear, which is a bit harder to describe, has 5 teeth across at an angle of about 10 degrees. Hopefully that will help someone trying to identify a part. So, to clarify: A Stage I speedo head is the same ...

I can't run around with my stage 1 for ever since at the end of the day it is leaf sprung/drum braked/non power steered Geez . . . you kids! I've just clocked up 19 years with my Series, and that's been without the luxury of a V8! Oh well, go for a County if you like your Stage I. It's pretty much ...

I'm a little confused by this, though I read it a few times! Are you saying that because the flange on the front output is so big, it's hitting the side of the main gearbox housing? Did you try the Stage I output shaft and housing? They are peculiar to the model. The output shaft housing is longer t...

I need one and don't have an old one as I'm in the middle of doing a conversion. Can you even buy them new these days?

About the only difference I can think of is the transmission tunnel area. It's bigger for the Stage I. Also, the hole for the brake pedal will be longer for the dual-circuit system, if (I think) the SIII single-circuit system bulkheads have the smaller hole like the SIIA ones do. That's about all I ...
